Join the Order of the Arrow, Yerba Buena Lodge for a day of hiking on the Fages II Trail.
♦ The Fages II Trail is a 20 mile hike intended for older scouts who have previous hiking experience. It qualifies for the 20 mile hike that’s part of the Hiking Merit Badge requirement, and it’s a great prep-hike for a 50-miler. By the way . . . No dogs or horses are permitted on the hike! Have questions? Email the Fages Coordinator
♦ Each hiker completing the 20-mile trail will receive a patch. A Boot Pin is available to signify how many times you have completed the 20 mile hike. You can buy these at registration. We ask that you use scouts honor for how many pins you buy for each hiker and how many times you have completed the hike in the past. The Boot Pin cost $3.00 each.
♦ It is a Unit event, not an individual event. Each Unit must have two (2) or more adults who will hike with the Unit. Make sure all hikers are able to finish the 20 miles. The Unit must hike and finish together. They must also maintain a hiking pace of 30 minutes per mile. Failure to maintain that pace will result in the Unit being asked to leave the hike.
Do not register if your Unit has no or limited previous hiking experience.

The Fages Trail is a 10.4-mile Historic Trail of the former Mt. Diablo Council and was established in 1973 by Oo Yum Buli Lodge, Order of the Arrow. It marks the route traversed two centuries ago by the first European expedition of record. They passed through the East Bay Hills seeking a route to Point Reyes. The trail is named in honor of the expedition’s leader Captain Pedro Fages (pronounced Fah Hace). Over 15,000 people have hiked the trail since 1973.
The Fages II Trail is a 20-mile hike that was established in 1990 by Oo Yum Buli member Don Scott. The longer hike is for older Scouts only and is organized and run by the Order of the Arrow. The Fages II hike starts at the Wildcat Canyon Alvarado Trailhead Staging Area.
